What can You Learn from Watching the Best in the World?
Well, what a weekend of sport. Congratulations to Marray for winning the Wimbledon doubles title and congratulations to Andrew Murray for finally showing some emotion and being so gracious in defeat. For those of you who watched this weekend, you were treated to a display of body language that is reserved for the winners in this world.

Marray in the doubles was pumped up, smiling, chatting to his partner and was the best player on the entire court. He carried his Danish partner, who at times look like a rabbit caught in the headlights.

And then there is Federer. Murray had Federer on the ropes and looked like the one most likely to win the second set but Federer, like Tiger in golf, only needs one opportunity, one ray of light to pounce and take advantage. The thing about opportunities and rays of light is that you have to be ready for them; physically and mentally, even if you are on the ropes, even if things haven't gone your way up till now. Federer, like so many champions, has this quality - an ability to keep his head while everyone around him is losing theirs.

Murray has improved in recent years but unfortunately he gets down on himself too easily when things don't go his way and when opportunities do present themselves, he is not ready and they disappear just as quickly as they come.

Next time you are out playing, learn from Federer - be ready.

To learn more about achieving when it matters, book on to our Train Your Golf Brain on Thursday 26th July or book a 1 to 1 session. Read on to find out more about the Train Your Golf Brain session.

NLP for Kids – Unlock Your Child's Potential

I also wanted to let you know that as a NLP Master Practitioner I will be running workshops over the summer break to help children improve their confidence so they can perform better in exams, sports, and in life in general. The workshops have always been well supported and I would like to extend the opportunity to you guys. Over the last 10 years working with children, it is clear that ability and talent alone do not guarantee results; they need the right mind set for peak performance. The workshops are designed to be entertaining, inspiring, and ultimately leave the children with a real sense that they can achieve anything they want to in life and can enjoy the journey along the way.

The workshops will be running on:
- Tuesday 24th July - 9:00 - 16:00
- Tuesday 14th August - 9:00 - 16:00

Cost is £100 per workshop (£175 if you book both dates).

We understand the summer break is a great time for the kids to relax and recharge the batteries, so the course has been designed with this in mind. The workshops are designed for the ages 6 – 15 and the groups will be divided in two on the day: 6 – 10 and 11 – 15.

Spaces will be limited, so book early! If parents want more detailed information, I would be more than happy to discuss things with them:

Yonex Custom Fitting Event
Monday 30th July, 13:30 – 18:00
Our next custom fitting event is booked in for the end of the month. We have organised for a Yonex representative to come along and he will personally fit you into the perfect Yonex club for you from their full range, with the use of the latest ShotTracker technology. This technology helps give you as much information as possible about the way the clubs are performing for you, including distance, height and spin rate, so you can be sure you are making the right choice before you purchase.

We are looking for serious interest in the day, as spaces are limited. As a result we will be operating an appointment system, from 13:30 until 18:00 on the day. Each appointment lasts half an hour or an hour for irons and woods. We will also be charging a fee of £25 to book an appointment; this, however, will be refunded if any club purchase is made as a result of the fitting.

To find out more, click here. To book your appointment, or for more information, please come and see us in the shop, click here or give us a call on 01227 462865.

Regards,
Canterbury Golf Team
